It is amazing how little is known about all of the great contributions that African Americans has made not only in the United States but globally. But it is also amazing how little has been told about the many, many countless days of suffering, pain and struggles that African Americans has endured for centuries. Being a second generation journalist, the knowledge of history was very important in my household. After being in the media from newspaper to television working with major broadcast networks, I decided in 2018 to start a black history newspaper. So in 2019, during Black History Month, THE NASHVILLE HISTORICAL an annual newspaper made it's debut citywide. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to share the stories of so many that has paved the way for us all. Every year we will continue to inform, educate and share the importance of this part of American history.
